
Partition Museum
Partition Museum is built in the town hall, Amritsar. The Partition Museum is the first memorial to the Partition of the subcontinent, opening 70 years on from the traumatic creation of independent India and Pakistan. The contempt (disrespect) between the two countries was developed so much that its effect is seen even today. In March 1947 when Lord Mountbatten landed in India to allow the errand (job) of separating India topographically into two countries to Sir Cyril Radcliffe. Sir Cyril Radcliffe was given the task of drawing the dividing line between India and Pakistan .The Museum is part of the newly inaugurated Heritage Street at Amritsar, which starts at the Golden Temple and ends at the Town Hall.
The Partition Museum was inaugurated (with the curtain raiser exhibition) on October 24, 2016, by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Badal. It spread crosswise over 16, 00 sq ft of the region.
